Please excuse the tardines of this note.  The timing of this note does not diminish the sincere thanks I'm sending for the manner in which you took care of the damaged wood on the deck. Thank you also for your calm manner in which you pointed out that the gardening crew was also working on the same day and yet you still expressed a willingness to help.
